NORDIC PAVILION, IN THERAPY EXHIBITION, VENICE BIENNALE, ITALY, 2016
At the annual art exhibition held in Italy, the Nordic Pavilion stood out for its inviting comment on the theme of belonging. Mirroring the adjacent public spaces, Norwegian Sverre Fehn designed the installation out of typical Scandinavian pine. As an overarching parallel or comment on Maslow's pyramidal hierarchy of needs, it is a gathering space for visitors to rest, convene, debate and observe.
At this year's 2016 Salone del Mobile 2016, Danish furniture brand, Hay, created an unique installation that had voyeuristic, doll house feel. Stairs were used to link the lower and upper rooms, allowing visitors to peer into the furnished rooms from above.
The 2015 Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) celebrated the best in Australian Design, with this year's awards ceremony being hosted in Melbourne, at the stunning Melbourne Museum. We had the pleasure of attending and cheering on the industry winners.
